A book club’s murder mystery game goes fatally wrong in this page-turning mystery, perfect for fans of The Block Party.
Making friends in a new town can be murder, so when Jordyn is invited to attend a book club meeting in her new Saratoga Springs neighborhood, it’s safe to say she’s excited. But she has no intention of making friends with the tight-knit group—she has plans for revenge.
Jordyn’s foster sister was a member of the book club until she was killed in a hit and run after a meeting one year prior. Members of the book club had serious motives and Jordyn is determined to read between the lines and find their secrets…and her sister’s killer.
When the book club hosts a murder mystery party, secrets begin bubbling to the surface–and the murder part of the game becomes stranger than fiction.
This bookish mystery will thrill readers looking for stories full of twists, turns, and tantalizing secrets.

✅ Severe paranoia. It’s my first time reading a thriller centered around a book club...and it did not disappoint.
✅ High-stakes socializing. Imagine being invited to an exclusive book club event like this, only to realize you’ve walked straight into a deadly trap.
✅ Sudden trust issues. The thought of attending a simple gathering and suddenly feeling like you have a target on your back genuinely terrifies me.
✅Extreme suspense. That is exactly how much tension this book gives you from start to finish!
Everyone is dying for an invitation, but you truly have no idea what you are walking into. This is the kind of danger that text on a book cover simply can't prepare you for.
🖤 Book Cover:
Honestly, I don't know why I’ve been so obsessed with looking at thriller book covers lately. They just look so inherently suspicious.😆😆 I mean, they make a reader LIKE ME immediately suspect that even the font choice is hiding a dark secret. And that spilled wine on the cover? It isn't just a clumsy accident... Ma'am, it's definitely a crime scene waiting to happen.
🖤 Overall Thoughts about the book:
Maybe it's just me but right from the prologue, this book completely hooked me. It's weirdly suffocating (in the absolute best way possible of course!) It creates a tension that makes you forget to breathe until you finish the chapter. So, yeah...just read it and see it for yourself! I love the way these scenes are written because the author knows exactly how to manipulate your heart rate while making you suspect literally everyone.

NOTE: This is my personal opinion about the book. My goal is to share my experience, not to change anyone's perspective. Thank you to Joanne Rock and Crooked Lane Books for giving me the opportunity to read this early.
