Silas Reed wasn't the first man to receive coal in his stocking on Christmas morning, but he definitely got Cole for Christmas.
What started as a week away turned into something confusing, steamy, and a whole lot of naughty. Washed up author Silas Reed escaped to the mountains to see if the words still existed inside of him, or if writing was a thing of the past.
Colette Baxter was running from an ex-fiancé, a world of hurt, and half-hearted condolences that were set to drive her crazy.
The issue? Whoever owned this cabin had been overbooked. Cole is there for warmth and quiet, to read her stack of smutty novels and drown her sorrows in gallons of hot cocoa. Silas wants to shut the world out with nothing but a typewriter and a bottle of vodka.
The snow falls in buckets, the power fails, and the only thing they have is fire and body heat. It's no wonder they both ended up on the naughty list this year.
Cole for Christmas is a spicy holiday novella with an age gap, snowed in, and "we shouldn't do this" vibes.

I think this author has convinced me to read more of their books for 2026.
I observed Silas when he kept calling Collette's name. When someone keeps using your full name instead of the nickname you like, it means...
❤️ They're just trying to get your full attention because they love the sound of it.
❤️ To be cute, it means they secretly cherish every single syllable of your name.
❤️ Their feelings for you are so new and strong. They're still figuring out how to be comfortable around you.
❤️ They're trying to keep a little bit of distance. Or perhaps they're just too nervous to be casual yet.
These are the things that I've always seen in every chapter. I'm not a big fan of insta-lust/insta-love, but it makes me HOPE for their first kiss every time I read it. I think Silas uses Collette's full name because... "to him," it's just more important and special than any nickname could ever be.
And come on, Silas is one of the best MMCs I've ever read because he is so full of patience before he finally gives in to what he truly feels for Collette. That's why I love OLDER MMCs. 😆 They know how to wait for the perfect moment! The patience of this Sir made me want to fast-forward 10 chapters, but I love him for it!
Let me share my favorite lines from the MMC and FMC:
Silas: You don’t have to listen, but I will give you what you’re asking for. Is that what you want?
Collette: Shut up and do something useful with your mouth, Silas.
AHHHHH!!!! This scene is literally insane! You see? Silas is trying to ask if she’s ready before he does anything with Cole/Collette! He treats her heart (and her body!) like a precious antique. That's the scene I'm always craving in every spicy book that I want to read. Like, this is the gold standard of consent and dirty talk rolled into one! It's so hot. It should come with a fire extinguisher. Hahaha!!😂😂
