You’d better watch out.
Christmas was always Ada Kimball’s favorite time of year until an attack by a masked stranger left her struggling to leave her isolated cabin. Now, holiday cheer is the last thing on her mind. What’s there to be merry about when she’s stuck at home with only her nightmares to keep her company?
But she might not be as alone as she thinks. Texts, gifts, and sudden appearances of seasonal decor point to someone who won’t let Christmas go by uncelebrated. A secret santa stalker who won’t leave her alone.
He’s there, even in her twisted dreams, which reveal desires far darker than sugar plums dancing in her head. A masked monster who makes her tremble with fear, and ache for more.
Will Ada's holiday dreams come true, whether she wants them or not.... or will this holiday season turn into a nightmare?
He Sees You When You’re Sleeping is a spicy dark monster romance between a plus-sized woman trapped by her past and the masked monster fed up with being only her nightmare.
Read the content advisory before you start, because while this book has all the heat you know and love from Emily and Kass, these two cozy authors are embracing their darkness this holiday season.
Why not a solid 5 stars?
- Ada's long inner monologue makes me a restless reader. First of all, I completely understand that she's dealing with serious mental health struggles (such as "severe" panic attacks or agoraphobia,) which is a valid reason for her to be confined to her house most of the time. I also appreciate how she's sharing her experience with it in detail, but the consistency of her internal focus felt a bit too much. I mean...it became so pervasive and lengthy ☹️☹️... I found myself having to skip the pages until she and the masked monster MMC finally met. Sometimes it felt like I was flipping through someone's personal diary or deep-diving into a psychology textbook 😅
For the remaining 4 stars:
❤️ Time to say hello to Henry who really takes care of Ada. As a gentle companion, he's such a good boy who deserves all the treats. He's a total sweetheart!
❤️ And last but not least... the smut part (as usual). Maybe I'm not that wide a reader of monster romance yet, but this is my FIRST TIME encountering smut that includes BOOTS. If you know what I mean, haha! I didn't know footwear could be an active participant. 😋💕 But here we are, and I'm "strangely" okay with it. That scene is unforgettable and surprisingly hot! Absolutely wild!

NOTE: This is my personal opinion about the book. My goal is to share my experience, not to change anyone's perspective. Thank you to Emily Antoinette and Kass O'Shire for giving me the opportunity to read this early.
